Rats and Mice (Rodents)
- Re-infestation following their life cycle.
After mating, the female will conceive and carry her young for 20 – 23 days (gestation period). And will give birth to 6 – 9 pups. After 3 weeks they become sexually mature for mating. Most mammals have to wait until the female has stopped giving milk until they come back into oestrus. However rats and mice (and some other animals) are capable of coming back to oestrus soon after giving birth. In ideal condition, rodents may give birth every 24 – 28 days.
- Cross – infestation
